Samsung has changed its approach with the Android 15 update by limiting the use of its Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine to Samsung’s own apps only.
As a result, third-party applications like Wuxiaworld, which rely on the device's default TTS engine, may be affected—particularly if the device was updated from an earlier Android version to Android 15. If the device originally shipped with Android 15, this issue does not appear to occur.
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to reproduce the issue on our end. However, some users have reported that the following workaround resolves the problem:
1. Switch to Google Text-to-Speech Engine
Go to your device Settings
Navigate to Accessibility > Text-to-Speech
Change the Preferred engine to Google Text-to-Speech
2. Change and Reselect TTS Voice in Wuxiaworld
Open your Wuxiaworld app
Navigate to a chapter and go to the Text-to-Speech (TTS) > Voice option
Select a different voice (e.g., “en-us-x-iob-local”)
Play TTS using the selected voice
Stop the playback
Go back to the TTS settings
Reselect the original default voice (e.g., “en-US-language”)
Try playing TTS again
3. Check Samsung TTS Installation and Language Pack
Open the Galaxy Store
Make sure Samsung Text-to-Speech is installed
Go to Settings > General Management > Language Packs
Ensure English is installed and set as the default language. If not, install and set it.
4. Reinstall, Restart, and Test
Uninstall and reinstall the Wuxiaworld app to ensure you have the latest version
Restart your device
Make sure your media volume is turned up
Open the Wuxiaworld app and try playing Text-to-Speech (TTS) again
